SOCIOLOGY NEEDS YOU

DESIRED: YOU

SKILLS LEARNED:

1. Learn how to lose confidence in every institution and industry of society, including but not limited to (1) public education, (2) private education, (3) college education, (4) the fashion industry, (5) the auto industry, (6) Wal-Mart, (7) 'mom and pop' shops, (8) the criminal justice system, (9) you get the idea.

2. Gain the best skepticism around from sociological perspectives. This will allow you to look at every situation and find those who are being abused and who is doing the abusing. If this doesn't occur, you may be overcome by the ambivalence of post-modernism.

3. Learn skills in spouting statistics. Aren't you tired of people saying things that aren't really true. "50 % of blah blah blah." Now you will know if they are telling the truth.

4. Become depressed by admitting you can do nothing to help. Learning all that you will learn may become depressing as you realize that no one, yes, not even sociologists, can fix the problems you are now so intimately aware of.

5. Learn how to publish for the editors, your job depends on it. Learn acceptable studies and acceptable results--without this vital information, you will not be able to publish. Publishing is key to being a sociologist. You cannot publish if you do not please the editors.
